A strong community is built by the people and organizations who show up every day. Here are some of the groups doing meaningful work in District 26 that I want to help amplify. Listing here reflects personal support and does not imply endorsement by these organizations.

Child Advocacy Center of Lapeer County

Most people don’t know this exists until someone they know needs it. The Child Advocacy Center of Lapeer brings law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecutors, and medical professionals together so a child only has to go through one interview, in one safe place, with one trained advocate, and then can immediately get the help they need. For families going through the process, they also provide food, toiletries, diapers, and other essentials at no cost. For the broader community, they offer free car seats to qualifying families, certified car seat training, and free babysitter courses open to anyone who wants to learn.

RxKids

RxKids currently serves mothers across Michigan, including in Bridgeport, Saginaw, and Buena Vista who have a baby born in 2026, providing $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 a month for the first six months after birth, with no strings attached. The idea is simple: financial stress during those early months is one of the biggest risk factors for poor outcomes for both mother and child, and a direct cash investment removes that stress in a way that no single service or program can replicate. The money goes directly to the family to use how they need it most, whether that’s rent, groceries, transportation, or something else entirely. Programs like this are how communities actually invest in their own future, and I’m glad to see it taking root here.

Why This Page Exists

Being a state senator isn’t just about legislation. It’s about knowing your community: who’s doing the work, where the gaps are, and how to connect people with the resources they need. This page is one small way to lift up the organizations that make District 26 a place worth fighting for.
